has created a new form of media which is blogger. This new media has gained its
strength because many of internet users nowadays use these new media as a
source for them to express their feeling. Furthermore, these new media has a
freedom of speech where as u can talk about anybody or anything inside it. Journalism
which is part of media has also evolved from its previous image. It has taken
up to a new form and methods of conduct. The new form for journalism is they
created online newspaper as a method of conduct varies from blogging to read
their online version. With the new form of journalism, the information can be
spread widely in a short time. People can give their feedback and opinions at
the space provided for those particular articles.
But, it is has been aware
that with the arrival of this new technology, with the great advancement of
technology, it can be a double-edge sword. In blogs, people can write, discuss, or give
an idea for what they want. This thing can cause troubles for everyone that
uses this new media. For examples, in traditional media, they don’t have the
freedom of speech just like the new media had. For those who are not
responsible, this will be their time for them to create disunity between
racial. For political side, they use this new media as a source to spread their
manifesto and propaganda which sometimes can made the citizens sees their
strengths or weaknesses to be a leader. They use all the opportunities that
they have in this new media seems it is still not being controlled.
Furthermore, this new
technology brings new knowledge and can influence human if this new media
uncontrolled. Thus, it can surely lead to chaos and destruction. Internet-based
news can also result in the loss of originality. One of the common things that
people read is celebrity gossip. There are many websites on celebrity gossip
for the readers to open it. All these websites have almost similar content
which poses as a danger that once something on the internet, it tends to be
accepted as a fact and repeated many times. The audience will start to believe the
content on the website because they see multiple articles on the same issue
from many different websites.
To sum it all, there are
many causes on how the new medium can bring negative or positive effects
towards human daily life. Everyone wants to be the first to publish new
information. They create the web as a place where opinion is preferred over
careful and unbiased reporting. This resulted in the posting of some very
hateful comments on the web. Internet- based news still does not provide the kind
of expensive and in-depth traditional media that a new media have done. A new
medium replaces a former, common means of communication, the dependence of weak
ties on a common medium makes weak-tie networks highly susceptible to
dissolution. In contrast, strong-tie networks, with their connections via
multiple reasons and multiple media, can be expected to be more robust under
conditions of change.
